    Open Section: Open to all; players not rated 2200/over by USCF or FIDE must pay $100 extra (see peakrating.us). Prizes $10000-5000-2500-1300-1000-800-600-500-400-400, clear or tiebreak winner bonus $300, top FIDE Under 2400/Unr $2000-1000. FIDE rated, GM and IM norms possible. 

    Under 2300 Section: $5000-2500-1200-800-600-500-400-300-300-300. 

    Under 2100 Section: $5000-2500-1200-800-600-500-400-300-300-300. 

    Under 1900 Section: $5000-2500-1200-800-600-500-400-300-300-300. 

    Under 1700 Section: $5000-2500-1200-800-600-500-400-300-300-300. 

    Under 1500 Section: $4000-2000-1000-700-500-400-300-300-300-300. 

    Under 1300 Section: $4000-2000-1000-700-500-400-300-300-300-300. 

   Under 1000 Section: $1000-500-300-200-200-150-150-100-100-100, trophies to first 10, top Under 800, Under 600, Unrated. 
 

Unrated allowed only in Open, Under 2300, Under 2100, or Under 1000 sections. Unrated may not win over $1000 in Under 2100 Section or $200 in Under 1000 Section.
 

Prize limits: 1) If any post-event rating posted 5/19/19-5/21/20 was more than 30 points over section maximum, prize limit $1500. 2) Players with under 26 lifetime games rated as of May 2020 official list cannot win over $500 in U1000, $1000 in U1300, $1500 U1500, $2000 U1700 or U1900. 3) Balance of any limited prize goes to next player(s) in line. 


Mixed Doubles Bonus Prizes: best male/female combined 2-player team score: $2000-1000-500-400-300. For the Open Section, only the first 7 rounds will be counted. Must average under 2200; may play in different sections; register (no extra fee) before both players begin round 2. Teams including an unrated limited to $500.


Open through Under 1300 Sections entry fee: $207 online at chessaction.com by 3/19, $227 online by 5/20, 5-day $235, 4-day $234, 3-day $233, 2-day $232 mailed by 5/11, all $250 online until 2 hours before round 1 or at site until 1 hour before round 1. No checks at site, credit cards OK.  Do not mail entry after 5/11.

Open entry fee for titled players: GMs & foreign IMs/WGMs $27 online by 5/20, $40 at site; $200 deducted from prize. IMs/WGMs $100 less than regular EF; also $100 deducted from prize.

Open entry fee $100 more for US players not rated 2200/over by USCF or FIDE.

Entry fee $100 less to seniors age 65/over, except in U1000 Section.

Under 1000 Section entry fee: $67 online at chessaction.com by 5/20, 4-day $74, 3-day $73, 2-day $72 mailed by 5/11, all $90 online until 2 hours before round 1 or at site until 1 hour before.

No checks at site, credit cards OK.

5-day schedule
(Open only): Reg. ends Thu 6 pm, rounds Thu 7 pm, Fri 12 & 7, Sat/Sun 10 & 5, Mon 10 & 4:15. 
4-day schedule
 (U2300 to U1500): Reg. ends Fri 6 pm, rounds Fri 7 pm, Sat/Sun 10 & 5, Mon 10 & 4:15. 
3-day schedule
 (U2300 to U1500): Reg. ends Sat 10 am, rounds Sat 11, 2 & 5, Sun 10 & 5, Mon 10 & 4:15. 
2-day schedule
 (U2100 to U1500): Reg. ends Sun 9 am, rounds Sun 10, 11;45, 1:30, 3 & 5, Mon 10 & 4:15. 
Under 1300 and Under 1000 schedules:
Same as U2100 to U1500 (4-day, 3-day & 2-day options), except last round Mon is 3:15.

4-day, 3-day & 2-day schedules merge & compete for same prizes. 
Half point byes:
 OK all, limit 4 (limit 2 in last 4 rds), must commit before rd. 4.

For all tournaments, adjusted FIDE or foreign ratings, if higher than USCF, may be used. Players must disclose FIDE or foreign ratings when entering, or may later be expelled. Other over the board ratings such as club, league, scholastic, state or province, etc, adjusted if appropriate, may also be used at our discretion if above USCF and must be disclosed.  No rating below the latest official USCF rating, on the list corresponding to the ending date of the tournament, will be used. For 9 round events offering title norm possibilities, FIDE ratings are used. Click here for further details.

Ratings: May official USCF ratings used for Under 2300 & below; May FIDE ratings used for Open Section. Unofficial uschess.org ratings usually used if otherwise unrated. Players must reveal foreign, FIDE and other over the board ratings, and these ratings, adjusted if necessary, may be used in the U2300 and below sections if higher than USCF. 9th annual Chicago Open Blitz. 5SS, G/5, d0, double round, 10 games, Westin North Shore Hotel (see Chicago Open). In 2 sections with $2500 guaranteed. Open Section: $400-250-150, U2300/Unr $220-110, U2100/Unr $200-100. Under 1900/Unr Section: $300-150-90, U1700/Unr $180-90, U1500 $120-60, U1300 $80. Entry fee: $40 by 7 pm 5/24, $50 by 10 pm 5/24. GMs free; $40 from prize. Enter at site only, no checks. Reg. ends 10 pm, rds. 10:30, 11, 11:30, 12. 12:30. 1 bye allowed (1 point out of 2), must give notice before rd 2.
