RATINGS USED FOR FOREIGN PLAYERS
IN CONTINENTAL CHESS ASSOCIATION EVENTS:

Foreign player rating rule: Adjustment points (see below) added to FIDE, 100 to FQE, 100-200 to most foreign, no points added to CFC, Jamaica, Bahamas, Bermuda.  Some foreign ratings not accepted for U2000 or below. Highest of multiple ratings usually used. Players who fail to disclose foreign or FIDE ratings may be expelled.  Tournaments offering FIDE norm possibilities use FIDE ratings only in the top section, with no adjustment.

FIDE ADJUSTMENT POINTS TO CONVERT TO USCF FOR PAIRING/PRIZE PURPOSES IN CCA EVENTS:
FIDE over 1750= Add 50 adjustment points to FIDE
FIDE 1671-1750= USCF 1800
FIDE 1591-1670= USCF 1750
FIDE 1511-1590= USCF 1700
FIDE 1431-1510= USCF 1650
FIDE 1351-1430= USCF 1600
FIDE 1271-1350= USCF 1550
FIDE 1191-1270= USCF 1500
FIDE 1111-1190= USCF 1450
FIDE 1000-1110= USCF 1400 


Definition of a foreign player for purposes of this rule:

A) A player who is listed with FIDE as representing a federation other than the US and lacks an established USCF rating (26 or more games) is considered a foreign player.

B) A player who is listed with FIDE as representing a federation other than the US and has an established USCF rating (26 or more games) may or may not be considered a foreign player, at the discretion of the tournament director.

C) A player who has no FIDE rating, has a foreign national rating, and lacks an established USCF rating (26 or more games) is considered a foreign player.

D) A player who has no FIDE rating, has a foreign national rating, and has an established USCF rating (26 or more games) may or may not be considered a foreign player, at the discretion of the tournament director.

In cases involving the director's discretion, the following factors are among those that may be considered: 1) The number of games on which the player's rating(s) are based, 2) The number of recent games on which the player's rating(s) are based, 3) The current and past residence of the player.  The decision of the director regarding which rating to use is final.
