Open or Unrated sections. In 8 sections: 
Open Section:  $14000-7000-4000-2000-1000-800-700-600-500-400, 11th-20th each 

$300, 2300-2449/unr $3000-1500, U2300 $3000-1500.  200 Grand Prix points; GM 

and IM norms possible.  If tie for 1st, quick playoff 7/7 11:30 pm for 1% of 

prizes tied for and title.   
Under 2200 Section: $10000-5000-2500-1200-800-600-500-500-400-400, 11th-20th 

each $300.
Under 2000 Section: $10000-5000-2500-1200-800-600-500-500-400-400, 11th-20th 

each $300.
Under 1800 Section: $10000-5000-2500-1200-800-600-500-500-400-400, 11th-20th

Foreign (USA residents under 3 years) must have established rating on/before 

2/02 list or acceptable foreign rating to win over $3000 in U2200, $2500

U2000, $2000 U1800, $1500 U1600, $1000 U1400, $500 U1200.

QUALIFICATION FOR 2003 US CHAMPIONSHIP: USA players in the Open Section may 

pay a $75 optional surcharge to be eligible to qualify for the US Championship, 

January 2003 in Seattle. The five top scorers and best scoring woman who have 

paid this fee before beginning round 1 will qualify. Players who take one or 

more half point byes or lose one or more games by forfeit cannot qualify.  
Entry fee discounts:  $30 less to rated juniors under 18 & rated seniors over 

65.  Callers must request discounts, or will be charged full fee.  
Backup phone entry: 406-896-2038 through 6/26 (entries only, no questions).  
Re-entry:  $120, any section but Open, any schedule, byes OK, no discounts.  
USCF MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED.
5-day schedule: 7/3 7 pm, 7/4-5 12 & 7, 7/6 11 & 6, 7/7 10 & 5.  
7-day schedule: 7/1-7/5 7 pm, 7/6 11 &  6, 7/7 10 & 5.  
3-day schedule:  7/5 12, 2:30, 4:30, 7, 9:30, 7/6 11 & 6; 7/7 10 & 5.  
2-weekend schedule: 6/29 12 & 6:30; 6/30 10 & 4:30; 7/5 7 pm, 7/6 11 & 6, 

7/7 10 & 5.  
All schedules merge and compete for same prizes.  Half-point byes OK all, 

limit 4.  Rounds 6-9 byes: limit 2; must commit before rd 5.

clocks if possible- none supplied.

Foreign player ratings:  100 pts added to FIDE, 100 to FQE, 200 or more to 

most foreign, no pts added to CFC.  Highest of multiple ratings used. Players 

who fail to disclose foreign or FIDE ratings may be expelled.  US player 

ratings:  June list used; FIDE ratings not used.
