Scholastic Championships. Open to grades K-12 in any state (top
NYS player & team in each section are NY champions). Saratoga Hilton, 534
Broadway (I-87 Exit 13-N, 4 miles north on US 9), Saratoga Springs NY 12866.
PARKING $5/DAY (note change). Team prizes based on top 4 scores from same school; no combined
school teams allowed even if one school "feeds" another. Teams of 2 or 3 players
allowed, but are at a disadvantage. In 6 sections, each is a
6SS, G/65 except K-1 is 5SS, G/30 playing Mar 1 only.
High School, grades K-12. Entry fee $42 mailed by 2/6. Top NYS grade 9-12 qualifies for Denker Tournament of HS Champions (Indianapolis, 8/1-4).
Junior High, grades K-9. Entry fee $41.90 mailed by 2/6.
Elementary, grades K-6. Entry fee $41.60 mailed by 2/6.
Elementary Novice, grades K-6 under 800 or unrated (March official ratings used). Entry fee $41.50 mailed by 2/6.
Primary, grades K-3. Entry fee $41.30 mailed by 2/6.
K-1, grades K-1. Entry fee $41.10 mailed by 2/6.
Mail entry $10 extra per player postmarked 2/7-2/17.
No mail entry after 2/17.
No online entry after 2/23.
No phone entry after 2/23.
Entry at site: all $60.
Trophies to top 20 players, top 3 Unrated, and top 8 teams each section and top each U1400, U1200, U1000 (HS), U1200, U1000, U800 (JHS), U1000, U800 (Elem), U600, U400 (Elem Novice). Speed playoff if perfect score tie. Free entry to NY State Championship, Labor Day weekend 2009 (Albany), to top player each section. 1 year NYSCA membership to all NY residents who are not members.
U.S. Chess Federation (USCF) membership is also required of all players, to participate (in any USCF-rated tournament). Any USCF Membership dues are in addition to the entry fee. REDUCED RATE DUES ARE AVAILABLE ONLINE.
RATINGS: MARCH 2009 official USCF ratings used. Unofficial ratings are not used unless you are otherwise unrated.

am, rds Sat 12 noon, 3 pm & 6 pm, Sun 9 am, 12 noon & 2:45 pm. Awards
5:30-6 pm.
