40th annual Liberty Bell Open. 7SS, 40/2, SD/1 (3 day option, rds 1-2 G/70; 2 day, rds 1-4 G/40). U900 Section plays 1/20-21 only, G/40. Sheraton City Center Hotel (formerly Wyndham), 17th & Race Sts., Philadelphia 19103. Special parking for all players $5/day (guest room not required).

Prizes $20,000 b/320 paid entries (U900 Section counts 1/3, Unr in U1100-U2100 ½, GMs ½), else in proportion, except minimum 60% of each prize guaranteed. In 2006 and 2007, the tournament had over 320 paid entries and the $20,000 projected prize fund was increased. In 8 sections.

Open Section: $2000-1000-500-300-200, 1st clear or on tiebreak $200 bonus, 2300-2399 $800-400, U2300/Unr $800-400. FIDE.

Under 2100 Section: $1000-600-400-300-200.

Under 1900 Section: $1000-600-400-300-200.

Under 1700 Section: $1000-600-400-300-200.

Under 1500 Section: $1000-600-400-300-200.

Under 1300 Section: $700-400-300-200-100.

Under 1100 Section: $700-400-300-200-100.

Under 900 Section: Trophies to top 8.

Unrated may enter any section, but may not win over $100 in U1100, $200 U1300, $300 U1500, $400 U1700, $500 U1900, or $600 U2100. Balance goes to next player(s) in line.

Trophy to top college team, all sections count equally, top 4 scores same school added to give team score.

Top 5 sections entry fee: 4 day $99, 3 day $98, 2 day $97 mailed by 1/10, all $100 ONLINE at chesstour.com by 1/15, $105 phoned by 1/15 (406-896-2038, entry only, no questions), $120 (no checks, credit cards OK) at site. GMs free, $80 deducted from prize.

Under 1300, Under 1100 Sections entry fee: All $20 less to rated players.

Unrated entry fee in Under 1100 through Under 2100: All $50 less.

Under 900 Section entry fee: $27 mailed by 1/10, $28 online by 1/15, $30 phoned by 1/15, $40 at site.

All: Mailed entry $3 less to PSCF members. Re entry (except Open Section) $80. USCF membership is required of all players, to participate (in any USCF-rated tournament).
