12th annual Kings Island Open. 5SS, 40/2, SD/1 (2-day option, rds 1-2 G/75), Kings Island Resort, 5691 Kings Island Drive (I-71, 6 mi north of I-275), Kings Island. $$ 30,000 based on 400 entries (special EF count as 80% entries, U1000/Unr Section EF 20% entries); minimum 70% of each prize guaranteed. Free analysis of your games by GM Arthur Bisguier. In 8 sections:  

Open Section: $2800-1500-700-500-300, clear winner bonus $200, U2400/unr $1600-800. If tie for 1st, top 2 on tiebreak play speed playoff for title & bonus prize. FIDE rated.  

Under 2200/Unr Section: $2000-1000-500-300-200.  

Under 2000/Unr Section: $2000-1000-500-300-200. 

Under 1800/Unr Section: $2000-1000-500-300-200. 

Under 1600/Unr Section: $2000-1000-500-300-200. 

Under 1400 Section: $1700-900-500-300-200. 

Under 1200 Section: $1000-500-250-150-100. 

Under 1000/Unr Section: Trophies to top 10. 

Unrated prize limits: U1600 $300, U1800 $500, U2000 $700, U2200 $1000. Balance goes to next player(s) in line. 

Entry fee: 3-day $111, 2-day $110 mailed by 11/6, all $109 online at chesstour.com by 11/11, $115 phoned to 406-896-2038 by 11/11 (entries only, no questions), $130 at site. No checks at site, credit cards OK.  USCF membership required.

Special EF: $40 less to unrated. $30 less to rated juniors under 18. Re-entry $70; not available in Open Section.  

Under 1000/Unr Section EF: 3-day $18, 2-day $17 if mailed by 11/6, $19 online at chesstour.com by 11/11, $30 at site. 

3-day schedule:  Reg ends Fri 6:30 pm, rds Fri 7:30 pm, Sat 11-6, Sun 9-3:15. 
2-day schedule:  Reg ends Sat 10 am, rds Sat 11-2:30-6, Sun 9-3:15. 
Half point byes: OK all rounds; rds 3-5 must commit before rd 2.
