At Foxwoods Resort Casino & Hotel (World's largest casino), Rt 2, Mashantucket/Ledyard 06339 (I-95 to Exit 92 to Rt 2 West, or I-395 to Exit 85 to Rt 164 to Rt 2 East). Free parking. 45 miles from T.F. Green Airport (Providence, RI), shuttle about $15; 14 miles from Groton/New London Airport; shuttle from New London Amtrak station about $3. Free shuttle to Mashantucket Pequot Museum, largest Native American museum in USA.  Sponsored by Internet Chess Club.

Prizes $100,000 based on 650 paid entries; else proportional, minimum $70,000 (70% of each prize) guaranteed. Unrated Section players & re-entries count as 1/3 entry toward prize fund. Unrated must enter Unr or Open section. In 8 sections. Top 4 players and top 2 women qualify for 2006 US Championship; optional qualifier fee $75.

Open: $10000-5000-3000-1500-1000-700-500-500-400-400, 2300-2449/Unr $2000-1000, Under 2300 $2000-1000.  If tie for first, top 2 on tiebreak play speed game (white 7 minutes, black 5 minutes & gets draw odds) for title & free room at 2006 Foxwoods Open. US Championship Qualifier; details later. FIDE rated.

Under 2200 Section: $5000-3000-2000-1000-600-500-400-400-300-300.

Under 2000 Section: $5000-3000-2000-1000-600-500-400-400-300-300.

Under 1800 Section: $5000-3000-2000-1000-600-500-400-400-300-300.

Under 1600 Section: $4000-2500-1500-800-600-500-400-400-300-300.

Under 1400 Section: $3000-2000-1000-800-600-500-400-400-300-300.

Under 1200 Section: $2000-1000-700-500-400-400-300-300-300-300, top Under 1000 $800-400. Under 1000s play for both U1000 & U1200 prizes; receive larger if winning both. If 1400/over established after 12/00, prize limit $500 in U1200 Section.

Unrated Section: $1000-600-400-300-200; must have US Social Security ID to win over $400 in Unrated Section.

Internet Chess Club membership prizes:
1 year ICC membership to top each section (winners of $50 or up ineligible).
1 year ICC membership to top two seniors over 65 overall (any section, winners of $50/up ineligible).

Prize limits for players with under 10 games played as of 2/05 list: U1200 $1000, U1400 through U2200 $2000. Games rated too late for 2/05 list not counted. Balance of prize goes to next player(s) in line.

Mailed entry fee: 5-day (Open only) $200, 4-day $199, 3-day $198 if mailed by 1/10; 5-day $230, 4-day $229, 3-day $228 mailed by 3/15; all $250 at site. CSCA members may deduct $4 from mailed EF only. No checks at site, credit cards OK.

ONLINE entry fee at chesstour.com: $197 by 1/10, $227 by 3/21, $250 after 3/21 until 2 hours before rd 1.

Phoned entry fee at 406-896-2038 (entry only, no questions): $205 by 1/10, $235 by 3/21. No phone entry after 3/21.

Special entry fee: $30 less to rated juniors under 18 or rated seniors over 65. $10 less if advance EF paid with $49 USCF dues.  Re-entry (except Open Section) $80. GMs, foreign IMs, foreign WGMs free; $180 deducted from prize.

Unrated Section entry fee: 4-day $59, 3-day $58 mailed by 3/15; all $57 online at chesstour.com by 3/21, $65 phoned to 406-896-2038 by 3/21, $80 at site.

Advance EF minus $5 service charge refunded for withdrawals who give notice at least 1 hour before rd 1 (no service charge if fee applied to future CCA tmts).

5-day Open Section schedule: Reg. ends Wed 6 pm, rds. Wed. 7 pm, Thu 12 noon & 7 pm, Fri 12 noon & 7 pm, Sat 12 noon & 7 pm, Sun 10 am & 4:30 pm. 

4-day Lower Sections schedule: Reg. ends Thu 6 pm, rds. Thu 7 pm, Fri 12-7, Sat 12-7, Sun 10-4:30.

3-day Lower Sections schedule: Reg. ends Fri 8 pm, rds Fri 9 pm, Sat 10-1-4-7, Sun 10-4:30. 4-day & 3-day merge & compete for same prizes.

Byes: all; limit 3, Open rd 3-9 byes must commit before rd 2, lower sections rd 5-7 byes must commit before rd 4.

Hotel rates: Grand Pequot Tower (tournament site, very luxurious) $117-117, Great Cedar Hotel (connected building; very close) $106-106, Two Trees Inn (15 minute walk; free shuttle) $96-96. 1-800-FOXWOOD, you must reserve by 3/9 or you will have to stay at least 3 miles away.
