12th annual Eastern Class Championships. 5-SS, 40/2, SD/1 (2-day option, rds 1-2 G/75), Crowne Plaza Hotel, 2 Forbes Rd (near I-95 Exit 36 & I-93 Montvale Ave Exit), Woburn MA 01801.  Free parking.

$$ 20,000 prize fund based on 290 paid entries, else proportional; minimum 60% each prize guaranteed. In 7 sections:

Master (over 2199): $2000-1000-500-300, clear winner bonus $200, Under 2300 $800-400. If tie for first, top 2 on tiebreak play speed game 3/9 10:15 pm for title & bonus prize (White 6 minutes, Black 5 minutes and gets draw odds).  FIDE rated.

Expert (2000-2199): $1400-700-400-200.

Class A (1800-1999): $1400-700-400-200.

Class B (1600-1799): $1400-700-400-200.

Class C (1400-1599): $1300-700-400-200.

Class D (1200-1399): $1200-600-300-200.

Class E (Under 1200): $800-500-300-200.

Unrated may enter only A, B or C, and cannot win over $700 in A, $500 B, $300 C.

Entry fee: 3-day $98, 2-day $97 if mailed by 2/27, all $96 ONLINE at chesstour.com by 3/4, all $105 phoned with credit card by 3/4 (845-496-9658), $120 at tmt. No checks at site, credit cards OK. Special EF: $40 less to unrated. $20 less to rated juniors under 18. Re-entry $80; not available in Master Section.

Rated players may play up one class only.

MACA membership required for rated MA residents (WMCA accepted for Western MA res).

Half point byes available all rounds, rds 4-5 must commit before rd 2.
