NOTE: special low entry fees added for unrated, and rated players returning after a long absence. See below.

5SS, rounds 1-2 G/90, d10, rounds 3-5 40/100, SD/30, d10. Hall of Languages, Syracuse University, S. Crouse Ave., Syracuse 13210.  $2500 guaranteed prize fund.

In 3 sections.
Open: $500-300-200, top U2100/Unr $210.
Under 1900: $300-150-70, top U1700 (no unrated) $160.
Under 1500: $200-100-50, top U1300 (no unrated) $110.
Unrated may not win over $140 in U1500.

Mixed doubles: $150 bonus to best male/female combined score among all sections. Team must average under 2200; may play in different sections; register by 2 pm 10/19.

College team prizes: Plaques to first 3 teams based on top 3 scorers from school among all sections. The tournament is open to all players; college attendance is not required.

Top 2 sections entry fee: $68 online at chessaction.com by 10/16, $72 if check mailed by 10/10, $80 at site, or online until 8 am 10/19. 

Under 1500 Section entry fee: $48 online at chessaction,com by 10/16, $52 if check mailed by 10/10, $60 at site, or online until 8 am 10/19.  $30 less to unrated (first tournament).

All sections: Special entry fee, $40 less to USCF rated players who have not played in a USCF rated event since 2016.

Online entry $5 less to NYSCA members (may join with entry).

No checks at site, credit cards OK. GMs, IMs & WGMs free, $60 deducted from prize. Re-entry $40; not available in Open Section.

Unofficial uschess.org ratings usually used if otherwise unrated. Special 1 year USCF dues with paper magazine if paid with entry. Online at chessaction.com, Adult $35, Young Adult $22, Scholastic $15. Mailed or at site, Adult $40, Young Adult $25, Scholastic $17. USCF membership required.

USCF trial membership is also available for $20 for two months. This will be posted soon at chessaction.com.

PLAYERS MAY NOT POSSESS CELLPHONES DURING PLAY. Please leave your phone home, or in your hotel room or car, or in a bag at your table.
For all tournaments, adjusted FIDE or foreign ratings, if higher than USCF, may be used. Players must disclose FIDE or foreign ratings when entering, or may later be expelled. Other over the board ratings such as club, league, scholastic, state or province, etc, adjusted if appropriate, may be used at our discretion if above USCF.  No rating below the latest official USCF rating, on the list corresponding to the ending date of the tournament, will be used. For 9 round events offering title norm possibilities, FIDE ratings are used. Click here for further details.
