At Valley Forge Convention Plaza and Scanticon & Radisson Hotels, 1160 1st Ave, King of Prussia PA 19406.  Free parking.  20 miles west of Philadelphia (PA Turnpike to I-76 East to Exit 327, right on N Gulph Rd, right on 1st Ave, or from Philadelphia, I-76 West to Exot 328B-A, right on Mall Blvd, right on N Gulph Rd, right on 1st Ave).  For shuttle info from Philadelphia Airport or 30th St train station, call 800-559-2040 or 215-616-5370.  All play in same room (brightly lighted exhibit hall with capacity 1800 players).  Scanticon and Radisson Hotels are connected to Convention Plaza.

PRIZES $250,000 based on 1100 paid entries (seniors, re-entries, U1200 Section, GMs, WGMs count as 50% entries, rated players in Under 900 as 25% entries, Unrated in Under 900 or Under 1400 not counted.)  Free analysis of your games by GM Sam Palatnik; free lectures by other GMs 9 am 7/3 & 7/4.

In 9 sections (Unrated eligible only for Open, Under 2400, Under 1400 or U900).

Open Section: $20000-10000-5000-2500-1200-1000-800-700-600-500, clear winner bonus $200, top FIDE Under 2500 or Unrated $2000-1000. If tie for first, top 2 on tiebreak play speed game 7/5 11:30 pm (white 5 minutes, black 3 minutes & gets draw odds, 5 second delay) for title & bonus prize. GM & IM norms possible. FIDE rated.

Under 2400/Unr Section: $13000-7000-3000-2000-1000-900-800-700-600-500, top Under 2300 $2000-1000.  FIDE rated, IM norms possible in 5-day & 7-day schedules.

Under 2200 Section: $13000-7000-3000-2000-1000-900-800-700-600-500, top Under 2100 $2000-1000.

Under 2000 Section: $13000-7000-3000-2000-1000-900-800-700-600-500, top Under 1900 $2000-1000. 

Under 1800 Section: $13000-7000-3000-2000-1000-900-800-700-600-500, top Under 1700 $2000-1000.

Under 1600 Section: $12000-6000-3000-2000-1000-900-800-700-600-500, top Under 1500 $2000-1000.

Under 1400/Unr Section: $10000-5000-2500-1200-1000-900-800-700-600-500, top Under 1300 $1500-800, top Unrated $200-100, no Unrated may win over $400.  Unrateds may be paired against each other in later rounds, even with different scores.

Under 1200 Section: $5000-2500-1200-1000-800-700-600-500-400-300, top Under 1050 $1000-500.  

Under 900/Unrated Section: $1000-600-400-300-300-300-200-200-200-200, no unrated may win over $200.   

Prize limits: 1) Players with under 26 games played as of 7/10 list may not win over $500 in U900, $1500 in U1200, $3000 U1400 or U1600. Games rated too late for 7/10 list not counted. 2) Players who had official rating more than 30 points over section maximum any month 7/09-6/10 have a prize limit of $2000. 3) Balance of any limited prize goes to next player(s) in line.

All: No checks at site; credit cards OK.  Re-entry: $160, no re-entry from Open to Open, any schedule, byes OK, no discounts. $20 fee for switching section after 6/30. $15 service charge for refunds (no service charge if fee applied to future CCA tmts).

5-day schedule: Thur 7 pm, Fri/Sat/Sun 11 am & 6 pm, Mon 10 am & 5 pm.
7-day schedule: Tue/Wed/Thur each 7 pm, Fri/Sat each 6 pm, Sun 11 am & 6 pm, Mon 10 am & 5 pm.
4-day schedule: Fri 11 am, 2:30 pm & 6 pm, Sat/Sun 11 am & 6 pm, Mon 10 am & 5 pm.
3-day schedule (U1200 & up):
Sat 11 am, 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm, 6 pm & 8:30 pm, Sun 11 & 6, Mon 10 & 5.

merge & compete for same prizes. 

3-day schedule (U900/Unrated Section): Sat 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm & 6 pm, Sun 11 am, 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm & 6 pm, Mon 10 am & 12:30 pm.

Half point byes OK all, limit 4 (limit 2 in last 4 rounds); Open must commit before round 3, others before round 5.  

Entries, re-entries close 1 hour  before your first game. 

Hotel rates: Scanticon or Radisson $99-99, 888-267-1500, 610-337-2000, ask for chess rate, rooms may sell out about May 25, two night minimum July 3-4. 

After Scanticon and Radisson are sold out, backup hotel is Dolce (formerly Hilton), $99-99, 610-337-1200, ask for chess rate.  However, as of June 18, they were apparently sold out on the night of July 3.  Here are some other possibilities:

        Best Western is offering an $80 internet rate- CLICK HERE  

        Clarion Park Ridge,
610-337-1800, is the closest hotel to the tournament other than the Radisson and Scanticon.  Rates include July 1 $95, July 2 $110, July 3 $110, July 4 $75, July 5 $80.

        Hampton Inn,
610-962-8111, has a $99 rate for two beds in room including a hot breakfast.

Ratings:  JULY OFFICIAL USCF LIST USED for Under 2400 or below, FIDE RATINGS (May list) used for Open Section. 
Unofficial uschess.org ratings based on 4 or more games are usually used if otherwise unrated.  Unofficial ratings are not used if you have an official rating.  Foreign player rating info.

Special rules: Players must submit to a search for electronic devices if requested by Director.  In round 3 or after, players with scores over 80% and their opponents may not use unauthorized headphones, earphones, or cellphones, or go to a different floor of the building without Director permission.
