If you do not already receive our free emailed CCA Bulletin, we recommend you subscribe at CHESSEVENTS.US, as the Bulletin is how we communicate important messages to players such as rules changes, deadline extensions, ratings news, prize availability and error corrections as well as details of future tournaments.  

For new CCA online players, these events include a free two month membership in ICC.

DECEMBER 19. 2nd annual North American Scholastics
6SS, G/25+5, at Internet Chess Club. Open to students in schools in North America. Must be on Zoom using real name to be eligible for prizes; must have side/rear Zoom camera angle to be eligible for free entry prizes.   In 3 sections,. Championship, open to all K-12 students. Under 1500, open to all K-12 students under 1500 or unrated. Under 1000, open to all K-12 students Under 1000 or unrated.  Plaque to top 5 each section, top 2 each 1800-1999, 1600-1799, Under 1600 (Championship), top 2 each 1100-1299, 900-1099, Under 900, Unrated (U1500 Section), top 2 each 700-899, 500-699, Under 500, Unrated,  in U1000 section.  Free entry prize good for all non-youth CCA tournaments (online or OTB) which have 100% guaranteed prizes except Foxwoods & World Open: Championship free entry period: 1/10/22-7/15/22 1st, 1/10/22-5/15/22 2nd, 1/10/22-3/15/22 3rd & 4th.  Other sections free entry period: 1/10/22-5/15/22 1st, 1/10/22-4/15/22 2nd, 1/10/22-3/15/22 3rd & 4th. Half point byes available all rounds, limit 2 byes, must be claimed with registration & cannot be changed.  Online Regular rated (will not affect OTB ratings); OTB Regular used if no Online Regular.; Online Regular ratings used for pairings & prizes. • "FAIR PLAY" ANALYSIS
  All games played in USCF rated tournaments will be analyzed using ICC's sophisticated anti-cheating tools. Such analysis will include, but not be limited to, comparing moves played to the recommendations of various engines. Players suspected of violating the Fair Play rules may: 1) have their results and any prize eligibility canceled, 2) be banned from future play on ICC, 3) be banned from future Continental Chess tournaments both online and over the board, and 4) be reported to the USCF Ethics Committee, leading to possible suspension of USCF membership.

  After each tournament, results will not be final for up to three weeks, while ICC fair play analysis of all games takes place. Tournaments may be rated much sooner, with an edited rating report later submitted if results change. If any players are disqualified, those who lost to the ejected player will be given half point byes, while those who drew will obtain forfeit wins.

WHAT TO DO AFTER REGISTRATION:

1) At chessaction.com, go to the row for the tournament and click on "entry list" to make sure you are listed. If not, notify us at director@chess.us.

2) If you are a current ICC member with a user name linked to your USCF ID number (like those who have played in our online tournaments), you are all set. If not, go to register.chessclub.com/cca to register with ICC. If you are unable to register, contact director@chess.us.

3) Read the rules posted HERE.

4) Log into Zoom at  CCAZOOM.COM. You must be on Zoom, using your real name, to be eligible for prizes.

5) 30 minutes before play begins, log into playcca.com, wait for any messages, and wait for your pairing to pop up when play is about to begin. DO NOT LOG OFF or you may not be paired.
